Power cables, with reticulated polyethylene insulation and thermoplastic polyethylene sheath, halogen-free, with low smoke emission (LSFH), with steel strip reinforcement

The specified products and their possible acceptable variants described in the INSEMEX Notice also comply with the specified requirements regarding the prevention of explosion hazards: SR EN ISO/ IEC 80079-34:2020, SR EN 60079-14:2014/AC:2016.

Cables with fire retardant propagation delay are intended for use in fixed electrical installations in zone 1 and zone 2 (group II G – flammable gases, vapors, mists), in compliance with the design, execution, installation and operation conditions for electrical installations in the zone with explosion hazard given by the manufacturer and in accordance with the requirements of SR EN 60079-14.

1 Class 1 or class 2 aluminum conductor, according to SR EN 60228
2 Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) type 2XI1 insulation, according to SR HD 604
3 Extruded or bandaged inner cover
4 Inner sheath without halogens
5 Galvanized (Abz) or ungalvanized (Ab) steel strip reinforcement
6 Outer sheath of thermoplastic polyethylene with reduced emission of smoke and corrosive gases (LSFH), type HM4, according to SR HD 604

The cables are intended for fixed electrical installations in power plants, in public buildings, train stations, airports, metro stations, supermarkets, theaters, hospitals, etc.
When burning, the cables do not release toxic and corrosive gases and have low smoke emission.

Minimum temperature of the cable (measured on the sheath):

– at assembly : -5 °C
– during exploitation: -40 °C

The maximum temperature allowed on the conductor, under normal operating conditions:

- under normal operating conditions: +90 °C
– during short circuit (max. 5 s): 250 °C

Test voltage: 4 kV, 50 Hz, 5 min.
Behavior when burning:
The cables have an increased flame propagation delay, according to SR EN 60332-3-24.
The corrosivity of the gases released during combustion, according to SR EN 60754-2:

– pH ≥ 4,3
– conductivity ≤ 100 µS.cm-1

Smoke density according to SR EN 61034: – light permeability ≥ 60%
Minimum radius of curvature:

15 x outer diameter, for cables with one conductor
12 x outer diameter, for multiconductor cables

Meaning of conductor symbols:

ru – single-wire round conductor (class 1);
rm – multi-wired round conductor (class 2);
sm – multi-wired sector conductor (class 2).
